The "mini-spike" strategy
i had a good experience with this strategy (for tombs), and i thought id share it with all of you
this 'idea' (no clue if its original) can work in almost any team, with any amount of damage dealers, and its goal is to end those ridiculous 15 minute fights and/or help you kill someone when you're up against some really good monks.
what you do is this: designate and call a target, but do *not* attack it. make sure everyone (rangers, eles etc) are busy attacking some other target, and using any aoes. but dont use any attack skills, exhausting spells, etc. try to make the monks work while using a minimal amount of adrenaline/energy. after about 10-15 seconds of this random attacking, call "3 2 1" on vent/ts and then quickly have *everyone* switch to the main target and hit him with your most damaging spells/skills. for warriors, this can mean an adrenaline spike like eviscerate/executionars strike, for ele's maybe something like obs flame. you should be able to at least seriously hurt that target, if not kill it. then just press your advantage and try to drop more targets.
from my own experience, my guild (Mmm Pudding - forgot to change the profile but ill do that soon) was up against one of those horrid aec/sB/DoP pugs... you know what i mean, the arrogant rank 9 pug. anyway so our necro dropped and we had *no* debuffing/corpse usage and we were in the fight for like 10 minutes. neither side was doing like any damage, and it was pretty depressing. *but* with this strat and alot of target switching, we were able to drop a few targets and eventually beat them in about 20 minutes >.<
anyway just an idea i thought you might be interested in ^^

my only suggestion would be to spike more often than every 15 seconds ^^

Seen a ranger group that did this before. They would tickle a said target, count 3 2 1, then auto swtich to a designated squishy, you won't even be able to get a 1/4 cast time off before you realize it.

Yep, a classic tactic. Used to do it in air spike groups, target caller would call out to wand a target, the enemy monks thought they were so clever and prot up that target as fast as possible, then we spike a different guy down instantly.

Warrior pinball method. It's old school, cookie cutter, proven, and it works even now...
When i'm in HoH or TA, I just call semi-squishy to squishy target and count 7 sec... Then immediately switch targets if they're too hard to kill when my adrenaline is up and my whole team follows suit...
The monk protecting himself will forget for a precious moment that the mesmer standing right next to him is getting nailed with a 3s. spike of Eviscerate {E}, Exe. Strike, Swift Chop...
That triple hit combo followed by teammate spells usually indicates death instantly as well...

ive actually been in groups where this little method of calling was the 'only' way they attacked. IMO thats not very smart, since it takes a kind of longish amount of time to organize. in the 5 second range +/-, and its not very doable in all cases.
i like it better as a stalemate breaker
